MPC-14 Optically Clear and High-Precision Resin

MPC-14 is an advanced optically clear photopolymer resin designed for rapid prototyping systems using solid-state 355 nm laser technology. It delivers a unique combination of clarity, mechanical strength, accuracy, and temperature resistance, making it one of the most balanced materials available for precision engineering and visual prototype applications.

Its low-viscosity formulation allows faster layer recoating, shorter build times, and easy post-processing. Once post-cured, MPC-14 parts exhibit mechanical properties comparable to engineering-grade plastics such as ABS, unfilled nylon, and polyester, while maintaining optical transparency similar to acrylic or polycarbonate injection-molded parts.

Key Advantages

  • Exceptional Optical Clarity: Transparency comparable to acrylic (PMMA) and polycarbonate, ideal for producing visually clear components and optical prototypes.
  • High Dimensional Accuracy: Optimized for 355 nm laser systems, minimizing distortion and ensuring precise reproduction of fine details.
  • Superior Surface Quality: Excellent sidewall smoothness directly out of the vat, reducing the need for extensive polishing or post-finishing.
  • Low Viscosity & Easy Handling: Enhances build speed, reduces material waste, and simplifies cleaning during and after printing.
  • High Mechanical Strength: Post-cured parts exhibit mechanical performance similar to engineering polymers, including strong impact and flexural resistance.
  • Temperature & Water Resistance: Maintains structural integrity under elevated temperatures and in humid or wet environments.
  • Snap-Fit Capable: Sufficient elongation at break to allow the assembly of snap-fit and interlocking parts without cracking.
  • Reduced Differential Shrinkage: Dimensional stability and isotropic behavior superior to many other clear SLA resins.

Applications

  • Transparent functional prototypes requiring high dimensional precision and mechanical stability.
  • Optical or lighting components such as lenses, covers, or light guides.
  • Design verification models for visual inspection and fit-testing.
  • End-use parts that need both transparency and toughness, such as protective housings or consumer product enclosures.
  • Engineering assemblies with moving or snap-fit connections.
